Just Another Tuesday

This year, Valentine’s day falls on a Tuesday, making it hard to celebrate with your loved ones, but I still believe that today is one of the best days of the year.

Most people will think I’m saying this because it’s the day of love, cupid, and flowers, but they would be wrong. It’s one of the best days because at the stroke of midnight you can get Reese’s hearts on CLEARANCE. Clearly, I have my priorities straight, and with that, I give to you all my non-romantic ranking of Reese’s shapes.

#4 Reese’s Trees

While I still love Reese’s trees, there has been massive controversy over the shape. Some say they look more like eggs or blobs than trees sometimes, but chocolate is chocolate right? With the trees having the thickest section of peanut butter, the chocolate to peanut butter ratio is off.  Even though they may be the thickest of the shapes, they have less peanut butter than the rest, which puts them at the bottom of my list.

#3 Reese’s Pumpkins

Reese’s pumpkins have the opposite problem of the trees in that they are too thin and have too much chocolate. While I am a strong believer that there is literally never such thing as too much chocolate, it seems to hide the yummy peanut butter which brings its score down a few points. Also, without fail, mine always end up squished on Halloween which is definitely no fun.

#2 Reese’s Eggs

While the balance between peanut butter and chocolate with the eggs is better than with the other shapes, the eggs seem to melt faster since they’re eaten when the weather is warmer. I’ve found the best way to eat the eggs is to pop them in the freezer for about 20 minutes to firm up, and then eat away!

#1 Reese’s Hearts

It’s only fitting that these have stolen my heart (get it?). Reese’s hearts are my absolute favorite.  Not only have they somehow created the most perfect balance of chocolate and peanut butter, but they also have the most peanut butter out of any of the shapes without being too much (click here to see the article).  They’re the best way to celebrate your Valentine or Galentine, so buy a bag and celebrate the chocolate holiday!

So go out, spend time with your valentines and buy all the *discounted* chocolate y’all!
